Our overview
If condensation and damp laundry are a fixture of your autumn and winter, this combined dehumidifier and air purifier is worth a look. It pulls moisture from the air in regular-sized homes, has a humidistat so it can hold a target level, and includes a laundry mode for drying clothes indoors. The built-in HEPA filter adds some dust and pollen capture, which suits allergy-prone households. Meaco quotes fairly low noise levels, so it can work in a bedroom, though any compressor unit will be audible in a quiet room. Weigh up the weight, as it is not a light unit to carry between floors, and remember the HEPA filter is a replaceable extra. Check the tank size against how often you are happy to empty it, and the manufacturer's warranty terms before ordering.
